What you should know about St AnneS Anglican Church

Churches - Christian in Strathfield

A exceptional part of that history has been our links with two local Anglican schools Meriden School (girls) and Trinity Grammar School (boys). St Anne’s is a family of Christian believers who reflect this diversity of backgrounds. He and his wife, Bronwen, have three mature children. The highest need for all men and women is to know and believe in Jesus Christ. Earlier to that she was studying in Bendigo where she was involved in her local Christian Union and church as well as teaching swimming at a local pool. staph has a mighty passion for sharing the gospel personally and practically, especially with women and children. staph enjoys spending time with family and friends, Thai tea, reading, music, traveling, cooking and sewing. She returned as a Student Minister in 2016 and is involved in youth and young adult ministry. Dharshana is completing her Bachelor of Ministry at moiling College, with a focus on youth and young mature ministry, and chaplaincy with young people. Before to this she completed her BA in Politics and Unused History at Macquarie University and worked within the NGOnot for benefit sector earlier commencing her theological studies. He has a deep hunger for the lost and upon completion from college he sees himself active cross culturally investing in the lives of locals who can receive the good news to their own people. Josh has a wife, staph (also on staff at St Anne's) and a son, Ezekiel. Previously he and staph spent 5 years on the kiwi Islands, living, active and investing in their community there. Before this, he was a student at Latrobe University Bendigo where he was an active member in his local church and a student executive member of his local Christian Union. David Anthony Taylor was born in Wimbledon, London, and started his musical career as a young chorister. From the age of seven he also studied piano with the esteemed Venezuelan recitalist Clara Rodriguez, later taking up the organ and percussion. David is married to Sarah and they have two young daughters, Giselle and Molly. The rest of her time is taken up with her family she and her husband, Phil, have 2 married children and 4 grandchildren. At the time, there were fewer than 40 families in the area belonging to the Church of England. As the population of the area grew, it was definite that the initial facilities would prove inadequate. Although the Rectory remained in Vernon Street for some years, a decision was made to sell the church and land and erect a new building in a more central location. As is correct of every church, St Anne’s has had its share of both thriving and lean times over more than 130 years. The changing nature of Sydney’s internal west has brought fresh challenges which stretch our resources. In addition, there is a 100 store which is refundable if the hall is left tidy and clean at the conclusion of use.

Services

Christmas and Easter are two of the superior obvious and maximum popular occasions in the church calendar. Christian funeral services provide an opportunity to express sorrow and say goodbye. More importantly, they point us to the hope we. Sunday 8am services feature the classic Anglican style that has characterized St Anne's since its earliest days, along with a clear emphasis on hearing God's word in the Bible readings, and grappling with its meaning and significance in Bible focused sermons. Joining in Holy Communion each Sunday is a customary reminder that we gather in the name of Jesus Christ, who gave his life for our sins. Some parts of the service such as the Hymn of Praise (Gloria) and the responses during the Great Thanksgiving are sung. Hymns are chosen from 'Together in Song'. Services are normally Holy Communion, apart from a scanty exceptional events (including Baptism services) during the year. The order of service (including song words) is usually on a printed sheet for each member of the congregation, allowing us to incorporate a range of liturgical features and to choose some contemporary songs as well as traditional hymns. A key part of our time together is hearing God's word in the Bible readings, and grappling with its meaning and significance in Bible focused sermons. Holy Communion is a routine reminder that Christ gave his life for our sins. While especially aimed at youth and young adults, this service attracts a wide range of people and all are warmly invited. A particular feature of this shortened Holy Communion service is that we pray for this obvious to us who are sick. Of course, we hope to see you more often than fair twice a year! Our ordinary pattern for Christmas Services is: The baptism of a kid can be a very meaningful social event for families, and parents request baptism because they are impatient to do the very superior for their children. We ask parents to take time to properly grasp what baptism means, so that the words expressed in the service are meant from the heart. To find out more, come along to one of our services and speak to a member of the staff. We will be glad to meet with you and discuss what is involved. Marriage services can be conducted at any mutually handy time, but our steady activities on Sundays malicious that we are unable to accept bookings for Sunday weddings. acknowledgment: The large wedding photo on the fore page of our site is courtesy of Tricky Dan Photography.
